Donkey Kong Land III is a portable video game that was released for the Game Boy in 1997 and is the pseudo-sequel to Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. Later in 2000, Donkey Kong Land III had a port for the Game Boy Color that was only released in Japan. This game was known as Donkey Kong GB: Dinky Kong and Dixie Kong.
Donkey Kong Land III takes place shortly after the events from Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong are informed about a contest taking place back on the Northern Kremisphere to find the Lost World. Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong both set out in search of it. Not to be upstaged, Dixie, alongside Kiddy, set out too. Their adventure would take them to new places in the Northern Kremisphere.
Dixie and Kiddy Kong return as the main protagonists of Donkey Kong Land III. They have less allies than they did before as Wrinkly Kong and The Brother Bears only make their returns.
