Arich is the second boss originally found in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and would end up as the third boss in the later installment of Donkey Kong Land III. Arich is in an enormous, agile spider with the ability to shoot deadly gobs of venom to give Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong a run for their money.

[edit] History

[edit] Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!

Arich can be found at the very end of the Kremwood Forest level in this installment, set in a stage which is titled Arich's Ambush. This deadly arachnid makes his entrance in this stage by dropping from the top of the screen, hanging from his own thread, and proceeds to shoot venom at Dixie and/or Kiddy. To add to the difficulty, Arich tends to make a bouncing motion prior to spitting a venom ball which cause the projectile to ricochet off the walls and make it tough for the Kongs to dodge. He can only be defeated by throwing the barrels at this creature's face. After enough damage has been taken, Arich starts to spit odd-looking green balls without a noticeable difficulty spike. Four more hits are required from then on in order to defeat the creepy arachnid.

[edit] Donkey Kong Land III

In his second and most recent appearance, Arich is featured as the third boss of Donkey Kong Land III in the Blackforest Plateau world. The obviously-named stage was slightly altered to Arich Attack and the overgrown spider had a slight downsize in this installment. Regardless, the entire boss battle plays out as basically the same as Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble, with the exception of using provided barrels as weapons. Instead, Dixie and Kiddy must jump on Arich's head in order to inflict damaging hits. This once again takes four successfully-landed hits.
