The Battle Crown is a special bonus item, similar to the Banana Medals, which can be earned at the end of each Battle Arena stage in Donkey Kong 64.
[edit] Donkey Kong 64
In the Nintendo 64 installment, Battle Crowns resemble that of your average royal crown, with a ruby, emerald, and topaz encrusted on its surface. It looks quite similar to the crown in which the dastardly King K. Rool wears on his scaly head(which could mean that these items are extras from the evil ruler's wardrobe closet that his henchmen happened to be carrying around).
The Battle Crown is earned at the end of each Battle Arena, after the matching character you used successfully completed the given challenge. Like the Banana Medals, the Battle Crown serves the purpose of unlocking in-game goodies and surprises.
