Lanky Kong is a very quirky and happy-go-lucky Kong who made his first appearance in Donkey Kong 64. Unlike the common mountain gorilla (Donkey Kong) and spider monkey(Diddy Kong) species that typically make it as characters in this game series, Lanky is the first of his kind as he is based off of the orangutan (due to his facial shape and characteristically-matching long arms, short, stubby legs and orange fur). He has an overall lovable clown-like appearance and funny voice which makes him an overall memorable character featured midway into this franchise.

[edit] Donkey Kong 64

In Donkey Kong 64, Lanky Kong ends up being trapped by King K. Rool throughout one of the early eight levels featured in this game and it is up to Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and Tiny Kong to rescue him. He can be found in the Angry Aztec level and will be able to unlock the Blue Bananas, Blue Banana Coins, Blue Banana Bunches, Blue Banana Balloons, and Grape Shooter weapon. Lanky is a remarkable character in terms of long-reach attacks, yet noticeably lacks in the strength department. He can also be considered a rather speedy character due to the fact that his Orangstand ability helps him walk faster than he would on his puny little legs.

[edit] Donkey Kong Barrel Blast

Lanky Kong made an official second appearance in Donkey Kong Barrel Blast as an unlockable racer in this exclusive Wii title. His stats are well-balanced with a top speed and a medium boost power. Unfortunately, his ability to dodge on-track obstacles was devastatingly poor.

[edit] Appearance

Lanky Kong is an all-around comical character with a long face and incredibly long arms to match. His body is short and slightly rotund and attached to a pair of very short, stubby legs. He has a very laid-back expression in his eyes and a bright red nose (which is why he is often referred to as a "jungle clown).
